In the past few weeks, Ginny and I attended two award ceremonies that honored Jillian.
On Wednesday May 6th, Winthrop University Hospital presented the 4th annual Jillian Daly Memorial Award during Nurses Appreciation Week. This years recipient administered care to Jillian while she was in the ICU. We are grateful for the love, support and care shown by RN Alison Dunn. It was an honor to meet you. We know Jillian was in good hands. We thank you and all the nurses who are the unsung hero’s in today’s world of medical care.
On Saturday, May 16th, Sacred Heart University presented the 5th annual Jillian Daly “Spirit of Nursing” award during the School of Nursing Pinning and Awards Ceremony. This years recipient is Kristi Chamberlain. Kristi is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. She received glowing comments from her advisor and the nursing faculty. Upon meeting Kristi, her welcoming smile and enthusiastic personality were immediately evident. Kristi will be a positive influence in the nursing profession and we wish her the best in a most rewarding career.
We would like to thank both Winthrop and SHU for honoring Jillian and her spirit. Jillian loved attending Sacred Heart and loved being a part of the nursing profession at Winthrop. We hope good things will continue to happen in Jillian’s name.
